Diane Smith left a message on January 25, 2019:
When I was informed of Shelly’s tragic passing, I could not believe it! Oh how my heart hurt for her entire family, friends, coworkers and anyone who had crossed paths with such hard working, smart, caring, wonderful, thoughtful and amazing woman. I worked at the FedEx Milwaukee Air Cargo Ramp and when Shelly was leaving to pursue her career in nursing, I walked up to her and said, “FedEx’s loss will definitely be any hospital’s gain because you will be an excellent nurse to all of the patients that you will care for.” I am certain that I was not the only person to tell her that. After reading all of the previous condolences from those who worked with her in the medical field, my words were validated. My heart goes out to you all, now and in the days ahead. Shelly will live on in the thoughts, memories, love, from her children and grandchildren, brothers, sisters, friends and so, so many others. May you all take comfort in knowing this. You have my deepest sympathies... Diane Smith (FedEx Retired)

Our Sweet Shelley, To know you is to love you and that is something that all of us did - love you. You have touched so many lives in your short time here. It's not about the dates that you arrived or when you left us, but how you lived each and every day. Always determined no matter what you were facing and forever with a smile, making all of us feel special. 20+ years together, started as friends and soon became family. The memories are my comfort now. I am so very grateful to have been blessed with your friendship and know that we will meet again. Forever changed by you .....

Shelly was such an amazing person, always positive. She did my first two weeks of orientation at MKER, 17 years ago. Shelly was the very first smiling face that welcomed me to Fedex. Such a hardworking person, never had anything bad to say about anyone. I remember one time i got a piece of wood in my hand at work and didn't know what to do. So i ran into the front office to ask Shelly, instead of helping me, she sort of just kept poking at it and was telling me how cool it looked! It was a blessing to be able to know and work with Shelly for 7 years before she went to be a nurse. Heaven truly has gained an angel.
