Ronald D. Vento, age 89, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2019, at Heritage Court, in Pewaukee, with his loving wife of 64 years, Thelma L. Vento (nee Chandler) at his side.
Mr. Vento is further survived by his two sons, Tony Vento and John Vento, and his grand-daughter, Monica Vento. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Grace Friend.
Ronald was born and raised in the Milwaukee area, the beloved son of Regina (nee Borowitz) and Joseph Vento. He lived in West Allis until his marriage to Thelma at St. Rose Catholic Church. The couple then moved to Milwaukee where they remained for many years until they moved to Brookfield.
In his early years, Mr. Vento pursued an apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker and remained a sheet metal worker for the rest of his working career at Winkler Sheetmetal. Ronald also served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a proud Veteran.
Mr. Vento was an easy-going, artistic man who enjoyed keeping busy by drawing and painting, spending time with friends, and enjoying his family. However, his true passion in life was music, being an accomplished Steel Guitar player. He spent his evenings and weekends playing Hawaiian and Country Western music around the area at various venues including county fairs as well as The Leilani. His family will fondly remember all of the practice sessions that were held at the house over the years.
In addition to music, Ronald also enjoyed spending time traveling all over the US with his family but especially spending time in cabins in Northern Wisconsin. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing with his sons, cooking for his family and playing with his dog.
Private internment services will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park on Monday, September 9, 2019.
