He retired from the Milwaukee County Forestry Department after 32 years of service where he worked as an arborist. After retirement he and Lucille had a home on Shawano Lake for 10 years, then they moved to Glendale and finally settled in Grafton. He was a member of Brown Deer United Methodist Church, Lafayette Lodge #265 F&AM, Scottish Rite, 32nd Degree Shrine, Beja and Knights of Pythias. He was also a member of the Shawano Lions Club. He proudly served his country in the Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion in Cecil, WI.
