On March 24, 2019, Salim Jaffer, husband, father, and brother, passed away after a battle with cancer at the age of 70. Salim will be forever remembered by his wife, Betty and his loving children, Shamin, Sayyid and Ayisha, his grandchildren Nyhla and Nazneen and by his brothers and sisters Nizar, Rashida and Malek. Salim will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
A native of Uganda, Africa Salim emigrated to Wisconsin at the age of 18. He was a leader of the household for many of his family, leading them to safety after Idi Amin had taken over his home country.
Once in Wisconsin, Salim made himself a new and fruitful life. He worked at a department store and was recognized as a great salesman. From there he was poached to be a car salesman at Slocum Pontiac. And due to his great skill, this led him into a job of self-employment buying and selling cars all over the Midwest for nearly 40 years.
He has been recognized by his major car auctions and honored with a permanent plaque for his great work in the automobile industry.
There is no man that loved his job and the people around him with such as passion as Salim. He was a loving family man and husband.
A Funeral service will be held on March 30, 2019, at 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM at Wisconsin Memorial Park Family Center, 13235 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin. A Celebration of Salim’s life will follow this service and be held at 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM, at McKinley Masonic Lodge, 4550 Pilgrim Road, Brookfield, Wisconsin.
