With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sandra Lee Rodriguez (née Jones), our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on December 5, 2019. She left us unexpectedly at her residence in Franklin, Wisconsin in her 66th year.
Sandy was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as grandma and greatly enjoyed playing with and reading to her grandchildren. Family was her life and she was dedicated and loyal to those she loved. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went, and her laugh and smile were infectious. She would light up a room. Sandy loved to love on people. She always offered help, a listening ear, or a kind word to anyone who needed it. She is the loving mother of Cheryl Rodriguez and Ricardo (Amber) Rodriguez. Adoring and devoted grandma of Skylar and Ryker Rodriguez. Dear sister of Russell (Myra) Jones, Gay (Joe) Donavan, John (Elaine) Jones and Jack Jones. Sandy will be missed by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many, many friends. Sandy retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 25 years as a letter carrier. She’s often referred to as “the mail lady” by those who knew her well. She loved music, especially karaoke, and had a wonderful singing voice. She cherished her time in the family band growing up and enjoyed many karaoke sessions with family and friends. A karaoke session could not be attended without someone requesting her to sing “Crazy” by Patsy Cline or “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton among many other favorites. Sandy shared her love of food by making award-worthy guacamole, lasagna, pot roasts, homemade stuffing, gravy, cookies, cakes, pies, and more for her loved ones and friends.
She also was sentimental and had a wide variety of collections to cherish including her prized teapots (lovingly displayed on her antique tea cart), wheat pennies, old journals, and butterflies, but Betty Boop was her favorite. Please join us in celebrating her wonderful and special life. Visitation Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin, from 3:00 PM to 4:45 PM with a Celebration of Life at 5:00 PM. Food and drinks to follow the service in the banquet room at Krause.
