(nee Boruch) Formerly Marson and Zimmerman, of West Allis, Wisconsin, departed this life on December 14, 2008. She was 72. Born in Wausau, Wisconsin on April 4, 1936, to Ruth (Fred) Bixby and Andrew Boruch, she was one of many children. Her siblings Ralph (Kay) Boruch, Wausau, WI; Robert Boruch, Colorado; John (Sue) Boruch, Oshkosh, WI. Early in her life, Sandy married Ray Zimmerman. After her divorce from Ray, she moved to West Allis, working as an office girl in the stockyards to support herself and her three young sons. In West Allis, she met and married John Marson. They lived in Muskego and were married for 24 years. Later in her life, after her divorce from John, Sandy met and married Bill Maas who passed away just two years ago. She is survived by her loving children Dale (Ann) of Burlington, WI; Don of Milwaukee, WI; Dean (Debbie) of Elkhorn, WI; Colleen (Jim) McGuigan of Brown Deer, WI and David (Sarah) of Milwaukee, WI. She is further survived by her loving step-child Sharon (Mike) Grieb. She treasured her time with her beloved grandchildren, Dale (Alecia), Christopher, Tyler, Kennedy, Aiyanna and Makiah and her great-granddaughter, Madeline and her beloved step-grandchildren, Kristin and Christopher. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Andrew, ex-husband Ray and husband Bill and sister Tootie. Sandy was devoted to the Great Blue Heron Girl Scouts for many years. She led Day Camp at Camp Chinook for many years and chaperoned many girls into womanhood through her work as a Girl Scout Leader. Many Springs saw her kitchen filled to the brim with boxes of cookies and many election days found her at the local election site selling baked goods; her crowning achievement was to take her entire troop on a camping trip to Mount Rushmore. More recently, Sandy enjoyed the companionship and camaraderie of the people of Scooter's in West Allis. They filled her life with friendship and joy. Before Bill passed away, the two of them spent many weekends fishing with each other and their friends. In the last few years, Sandy spent much of her free time on the worship committee and with the ushers at Woodlawn Church. Her family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, technicians and assistants of the Critical Care Unit at Aurora West Allis Memorial Hospital who cared for Sandy during the last two weeks of her life. You helped her, and us, find happiness and love at a difficult time. Memorial donations should be sent to the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast (the former Great Blue Heron Council), 131 South 69th Street, P.O. Box 14999, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53214-0999.
