Steven (W9GSD "THE DOG") passed over the rainbow bridge as he went to be with the Lord. Steve was the SOULMATE and HERO of Phyllis (nee Morris). He was the loving son-in-law of Margaret Morris, step-father of Lynn, and nephew-in-law of Eugene and Lise Nikora. Special brother-in-law and "Poppy" to Patti Thor. Treasured friend of Vicki Kaiser and Diane Stefonich. Steve joins his parents, Marvin and Doris Griffin, who passed before him and will welcome him home. He will also be deeply missed by the beloved furry children he and Phyllis shared; dog Streicher and cat, Stormy.Steve was a retired employee of Briggs and Stratton and a member of United Steel Workers, (USW), Local 2-232. He was also a former employee of Amateur Electronics Supply. He sat on the Board of Directors of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Wisconsin, Inc. and was a past president and instructor for the club. Steve was the Secretary for MAARS, (Milwaukee Area Amateur Radio Society) and part of their MADOG D-Star group. His interest with radio started at a young age beginning with CB radio when he was known as "Baby Huey". Steve was a very talented hobbyist photographer therefore there are not many photos of him because he was always busy taking them. He did weddings exclusively for a number of years before turning his photographic attention to dogs and his travels with Phyllis. A very special and heartfelt thank you goes out to his physician Dr. Laura McGartland and the entire staff of Vince Lombardi Cancer Center. We could not have gone this far without all of them. Steve will be forever remembered by many, many friends whose lives he touched throughout his life and was profoundly grateful for the ways each of their lives touched him.
