Born to Eternal Life and reunited with her husband Jack and 2 sons on December 4, 2009, at the age of 90 years. She will be deeply missed by her chldren Rosemary, the late Ken (Maggie), Marge (Bill) Rhode, the late Dave (Reggie), Bob (Anne), Wayne (Sheila), Dennis (Patti), Tom (Mickey) and Diane (Jim) Prindiville; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters Jeannette Schlicting and Sylvia (Rich) Rupnow; brother Eugene (Ramona) Hughes; and her many friends.Thelma grew up in the farming community of Stockton, IL., during the Depression. She worked hard to be allowed, as a young woman, to attend business school, and was proud when she completed her courses. Thelma and Jack were married in 1940 and started their life together in Milwaukee. The next 20 years were busy with the births of their 9 children. Daily family dinners, birthday celebrations and holiday gatherings were the heart of family life. Throughout the years there were many special events such as the summer trips to Rhinelander, visits to the grandparents in Stockton, many weddings and even more graduations. The most memorable family trip was a family cruise in the Caribbean to celebrate Thelma's 80th birthday. In addition to family life, Thelma worked with Jack in the pharmceutical industry and was also an Avon representative for 35 years. She thoroughly enjoyed playing cards and golf at Northshore Country Club, entertaining friends with dinner parties at home, gardening and bird watching in her backyard, and taking trips with Jack. The family was able to gather this summer to celebrate her 90th birthday.Thelma touched all of our hearts in so many ways. She will always be remembered for her strength of character, love of flowers and passion for her family. A heartfelt thanks to the staff at Golden Living Center-Colonial Manor, and Asera Hospice, for their compassionate care of our mother.Family and friends will be gathering on Wednesday, December 9, to celebrate Thelma's life. Visitation 10:30AM-12:30PM. Mass to begin at 12:30PM. Both will be held at Our Lady of Good Hope, 7152 N. 41st St., Glendale. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Multiple Sclerosis Society Wisconsin Chapter, 1120 James Dr., Suite A, Hartland, WI 53029, would be appreciated.
