Tom was born in Milwaukee, WI to Carl & Pearl (nee Knowles) Street. He graduated from Riverside High School. He was on the track team. He went to MSOE to get his refrigeration and air conditioning certificate. He then started working at Benfeldt Ice Cream. In 1957, he met Mary (nee Regan), the love of his life, at Hoffman’s Pharmacy where she was the soda jerk. He then romanced her by taking her to see the Ten Commandments movie on their first date. In 1959, they married at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. They started a family soon after.
Tom was an all around handyman and was always working on projects around the house. He then worked for Ace Foods, then Share Corporation and then later started his own business. Tom was also a long-standing member of St. Agnes Parish in Butler. He served as an usher for most of those years.
Tom & Mary took many trips, especially family trips to the East Coast in the family station wagon. They also traveled abroad to Ireland, Italy, Spain, Mexico and the Caribbean. They enjoyed going to their cabin at Pride of America in Pardeeville. The whole family enjoyed spending summers there relaxing and his favorite, driving the golf cart!
Tom passed away peacefully on April 1, 2019. He will be missed greatly by his wife Mary, and children; Beth (Mike) Witt, Michael (Jane) Street, Carissa (Kevin) Tesch, Andrea (Brent Reman) Street. Grandchildren; Brandon (Brittny) Witt, Jason Witt, Brittney (Ulices) Munoz, Sam (Jen) Schmidt, Molly (Eric) Granseth, Chance Reman, Zayden Reman, Tatum Reman, Regan Tesch. Great Grandchildren; Tucker Witt, Julia Daub, Aiden Witt, Mackenzie Witt, Alanna Witt, Lincoln Munoz, Jameson Witt. He is also survived by his sister Carlene (Richard) Nadeau and sister-in-law Mary K. Street. He was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy (William) Astemborski and brother Clyde Street. He is also fondly remembered by many other family and friends.
Tom will always be remembered for his sense of humor, sarcastic comments and one-liners.
Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI, on Sunday, April 7, 2019, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Additional visitation will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 12801 West Fairmount Avenue, Butler, Wisconsin, on Monday, April 8, 2019, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Mass at 11:00 AM.
