Timothy Martin Young
I JOHN 3:1 “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God! And that is what we are!”
According to the Lord’s plan that was written in eternity for him, Timothy Martin Young, was born in Milwaukee, WI on May 17, 1964. He was the sixth-born child of Roger and Alice (Quinn) Young. The Lord of grace saw to it that Tim’s need for spiritual rebirth was met when he was brought to the baptismal font at St Peter & Paul’s on the eastside of Milwaukee to be washed in the waters of holy baptism. In that simple means of grace, saving faith was gifted to him along with the forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation. The Spirit’s working made him a newly adopted son in the family of God.
Tim (or “Timmy” to his family and close friends) grew up on the west side of Milwaukee where he excelled at making friends throughout the neighborhood. His mechanical skills were always on exhibit whether he was fixing his brothers and sisters bikes or rewiring the bedroom light switch, so it shut everything in the room off at the same time. In 1980 Tim transferred from Solomon Juneau High School to Washington High School where he discovered his passions for computers and programming that turned into his livelihood through life.
God is always good and blesses His children in so many ways in our earthly lives as a testament to His kindness, and Tim was a recipient of those blessings. He was blessed with two sons of his own (Christopher and Ian) and loved spending time with them, family, and friends. If anyone needed anything at all, Tim was ALWAYS willing to lend a hand in any way he could. He enjoyed sharing his “up north” hobby with everyone and had the unique ability to tackle any home project put in front of him (with the appropriate supervision and assistance, of course). He loved hunting with friends and was gifted in whatever he put his effort into, and the Lord certainly brought blessings to him and to others through him.
In line with His perfect plan and timing for Tim, God brought Dawn into his life in 1994 and they quickly became close friends. “Dawny,” as Tim called her, was his long-time partner and confidant. From helicopter rides in the Grand Canyon to just putt-putting around Oneida Lake in the pontoon boat, she was a true gift to Tim over the last two-plus decades. In His infinite wisdom and according to His timing, the Lord saw fit to bring Tim to Himself in Heaven on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, after a tenacious bout with cancer. The Lord of grace had granted Tim 58 years, 11 months, and 22 days.
Tim was preceded in death by his son, Ian Timothy Young, parents, Roger and Alice Young and brother, Roger. He is the loving dad of Chris Young and the longtime partner and best friend of Dawn Anderson and her children, Ben (Danielle) and Kate (Jordan). He’s also the cherished brother of Margaret (Mike) Rice, Mary Alice (Chris) Wackman, Ann Young, Sean (Kirsten) Young, Isabel Kulakowski and Martin (Valerie) Young. Dear uncle of Elle (Jake), Genesee, Dylan, Donovan (Kelsey), Kevin, Nicole, Jay, Alysia, Taylor, Athena (Sam), Neil (Kelsey), Kaitlyn (Grant), Joey, Natasha, Dante, A.J., Calvin and Curtis. Tim will be missed by many family members and friends.
The Lord would have us find our comfort, strength, and joy in Him alone . . .
“Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:3,4,17,18)
