Vadrian Zagar (nee Manter), age 50, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 29th, 2021. Loving and amazing mother of her adoring son Jake. Beloved and wonderful wife of Jeffrey Zagar. Dear daughter of Paul and Nelda Manter and daughter-in-law of Kathleen Zagar. Survived and cherished by siblings Valerie (Bruce) Manter-Kapanke, Vernon Manter (Dawn Manthei), Venitha Manter (Jim Anderson), brother-in-law Michael Zagar and sister-in-law Janet (Rob) Blaszynski. Doting aunt of Kalyn, Kendra, Erich, Lara, Zoe, Sadie, Brad, Andy and Zach. Preceded in death by father-in-law Henry Zagar, Jr.

Vadrian graduated from West Salem (WI) High School. She went on to study at UW-La Crosse, graduating with a double major in Spanish and Business. Finally, she attended the graduate school of business at UW-Milwaukee, graduating with a Master’s degree in International Business and Marketing.

Vadrian was a brave soul who lived and studied abroad during high school and college. She was a smart, world-traveling business woman who loved experiencing other cultures and countries. She transitioned to being a full-time mom to ensure her son was in the best possible care when he was diagnosed with a medical condition as a toddler. She then became an educator, working with students here and abroad. She was also an expert field trip chaperone.

Vadrian was a caring pet mom. She enjoyed Packers and Brewers games with her family, dinner and a movie, concerts, beer gardens with good friends, volleyball, swimming, boating, snorkeling, decorating, organizing, educating, and advocating for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and other causes. She loved the beach and especially her many excursions to Bradford Beach with her son.

Her spirit, her love, and her amazing smile broadened her husband’s world and his life. Memories of adventures together to Mexico, Jamaica, Spain, California, Colorado, New York City, Hawaii, and Aruba linger and will be cherished forever. Vadrian, you will always be in our hearts.

Visitation Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, from 4:00 PM until 6:45 PM. Celebratory service at 7:00 PM. The family ask that masks be worn. A second memorial service will be held at Vadrian’s childhood home in West Salem, Wisconsin, in June.

I was shocked and saddened to hear that Vadrian left us so suddenly. I knew Vadrian from our neighborhood and and will always remember her positive loving nature. She always had a smile on her face. I also remember her from Fairfield school where she was a strong advocate for her son. She will be missed. God Speed Vadrian. You made a huge difference in this world. Life without Vadrian will be sad. She was delightful and she so loved her family. I hope someday you will be able to find some peace Jeff, Jake, and the rest of her family.

My deepest condolences on your loss. I have such fond memories of talking with Vadrian at numerous JDRF events. Her love for her family and concern for children with diabetes came through every interaction. She was positive and encouraging. I always looked forward to talking with her. I am so sorry for your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My sincere condolences. We were all blessed to have had Vadrian in our lives. My prayers are with her family.

There are no words that can express how sorry I am for all of us who loved Vad. Her kindness, smile and sense of humor will never be forgotten. She was truly one of a kind and I feel so blessed to have shared so many memories with her from camping at Yogi Bear’s in the rain to riding around in the green Saab as teenagers. My heart goes out to Jeff and Jake, her mom and dad,Valerie,Venitha and Vern.I love you Vad and am missing you so much.

There are no words that can ease the emptiness left behind with Vadrian's passing. Praying you can find some peace and comfort during this season of grief.

Words can not express sorrow enough for the loss of Vadrian. Her passing will be felt greatly by her family, her friends, and the many people she touched. My sincerest condolences to her family.

Words would not do justice to how hard this loss must hit, how sudden, how unexpected. She seemed to be quite the light. Hearing about it at work gave me more than a moments' pause. To think it could happen to any of us at any time, at any age... Your sorrow is felt by many, and we will do all we can to ease it, if possible. Walk with her memory, for she should be cherished.

Vadrian's smile and good nature lit up our team at P&H. Her many talents shone through in all she contributed. We felt so lucky to watch her become a devoted new mom to Jake and relish her family life. Jeff and Jake, we are so sorry for your loss. Her love is irreplaceable but we know she will be walking by your side every day and continuing to delight in all that life brings your way. Be strong for her, knowing she loved you oh so much.
