Mother Verdie L. Drake, entered into her eternal rest on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the golden age of 92. She was born on May 26, 1929, in McCarley, MS to the union of the late Arthur Wall, Jr. and Madie Bibb Wall. She was blessed to be united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, the late Henry James Drake for fifty years. To this union, six children were born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Mother Drake, a loving homemaker, completed her advanced education at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. In 1965, she accepted a position with Daycare Services For Children in the newly created Head Start Program. She was a proud Union Official, preschool and kindergarten teacher for twenty-six years.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Mount Zion Assembly Healing Temple of the Apostolic Faith, Milwaukee, WI until her passing. She served faithfully as a choir member and in later years, Church Mother.
Mother Drake and her late husband, Henry were avid travelers. Places visited included the Holy Land, Italy, the Caribbean and extensive travels throughout North America. They inspired that same love of travel in their children, grandchildren and countless others.
