Virginia L. Monahan Kasian, 85, of Muskego, WI passed away on November 22, 2018 surrounded by her family.
Virginia was born November 16, 1933 to Lucille and Welby Beane in Berlin, WI. Virginia graduated from Berlin High School and was Prom Queen her junior year.
She married the love of her life, Merle Monahan on October 4, 1951. They lived on the Navy Base in Jacksonville, FL., where they had their son Kevin. Eventually, they returned to Omro, WI, where they had their daughter, Julie. The family moved to Platteville, WI where daughters Sue and Laura were born. They settled in Monroe in 1963 where daughter, Shannon was born. Virginia loved taking care of her children and the house. She loved to cook, having sit down dinners every night with the family, and playing games at the kitchen table. She loved hugging her children as well as all of her grand-children and great-grandchildren.
Virginia went to Blackhawk Technical College to become a Medical Assistant. She worked at the Monroe Clinic in Pediatrics. The families loved Virginia’s bedside manner, because she treated each child as her own.
In March, 1980, Virginia married Jerry Kasian in Acapulco, Mexico. She loved spending the winters there, traveling and entertaining guests. When the kids would visit, she would love to go to the beach, dance, boat, and fish.
She loved to spend time with her children, grand-children and great grand-children, as she was known as “Grandma GG”. She loved to “ching ching” at the casino, get a mani-pedi with her daughters, take a ride on the pontoon, sit in the gazebo to watch her grandchildren swim, or go anywhere as long as it included a Manhattan. Her sense of humor and love for life kept her young.
