Passed away peacefully on September 21, 2016, at age 57. Loving husband of Susan (nee Rahlf). Devoted dad of Angela and Patrice. Proud grandpa of Danica. Thoughtful son of Arthur II and Joyce Rumpf. Younger brother of Arthur III (Ann) and John (Audra). Dear son-in-law of Marilyn and the late Donald Rahlf. Brother-in-law of Mark (Jen), Jackie (Greg) Schimmel, and Michelle (Jeff) Kornburger. Further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. “In August 2015, Bill was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma. There was a single tumor on one kidney, and the kidney was removed. He had continued follow ups and all was well. In the beginning of June he found out the cancer was back and it had metastasized. They discovered he had a mass in his brain which was then removed. After many scans and tests, the doctors were able to tell him everywhere the cancer had spread. He then began the hardest battle of his life. He received radiation to his brain, major hip surgery to reconstruct his hip for radiation treatments, and IV and oral chemotherapy medications. On September 20, Bill was told his liver had suddenly shut down from the cancer and he could not continue receiving treatment. He peacefully passed away the next morning surrounded by family. Bill was a man of many trades and hobbies, including hunting, fishing, golfing, car building, cabin building, flying of airplanes and drones, and could fix anything you asked him to. He enjoyed spending his free time in the woods of Necedah, Wisconsin, when younger and found joy in the ice cold Wisconsin winters. More recently he preferred to spend his free time in the desert air of Mesa, Arizona. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. ”
