Hi, my name is Reverend Willie Anderson. I was born April 29, 1966. I was the twelfth out of fourteen children. I was born to the late Reverend Willie Morgan and Julia Cox-Anderson in Tchula, Mississippi. Then, at the age of 13, I moved from Tchula, Mississippi to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I received my formal education in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at Washington High School Class of 1984 and received my Associates, Bachelors, and Masters degrees in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at Bryant and Stratton College.
I accepted Christ at a young age in Mississippi and then later came to Milwaukee and accepted Christ at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church under leadership of Reverend Charlene Bulls Mills. Later on within the years I got a call from God to preach his word and got ordained locally at Bradford Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church in September 2017, where I served faithfully until my death.
On June 23, 1990, I married Kaundlen King and was blessed with two sons, Jorey Anderson (Jaranae) and Brandon McDonald, and two daughters, Brittany Hayes and Imani Anderson, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I was blessed with 2 devoted, loving childhood friends, Terry Maxwell (Malissa) and Reginald Parker.
Back in my early years of life, I used to be known as “DJ Cold Chillin B.” I would DJ for parties, skating rinks, you name it – I was there! I loved to go fishing with my friends and family, I loved taking trips, I loved showing my kids the work I’ve done over the years, and I mostly loved watching the Green Bay Packers “Go Pack Go.” I did construction work for 28 years of my life and then I started my own business known as “Anderson Lawn Sprinklers.”
I was preceded in death by my parents Reverend Willie Morgan and Julia Anderson; 4 brothers, Robert, Earnest, Jessie, and Donald Anderson; 6 sisters, Ina Rounds, Niecey Smith, Fannie Anderson, Gloria Stewart, Sandy Anderson, and Betty Anderson, and a loving childhood friend, Billy Ross.
I was called to my lovely, heavenly home on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital.
I leave to cherish in my memory two amazing sons, Jorey Anderson and Brandon McDonald; two beautiful daughters, Brittany Hayes and Imani Anderson; my one and only favorite daughter-in-law, Jaranae Anderson; my former wife, Kaundlen Anderson; and longtime friend Johnnie Hampton, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; three brothers, Wilson Anderson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Joe David Anderson of Jackson, Mississippi, and Major (Willie Mae) Anderson of Gains City, Florida; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
