Beloved father of Jamil (Chrissy) and Anina. “Poppa K’uu” was also the cherished grandfather of Ni’Sea, Nya, Malia, and Khalil, and adored great-grandfather of Gadiel. Brother of Vickie, Yolanda, Kimberly, and Courtney. Also loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends, and coworkers.
K’uu was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War and had a passion for helping fellow veterans in the Milwaukee area. K’uu was a longtime fixture at the Center for Veteran’s Issues (CVI), more commonly known as Vet’s Place Central, who worked as a counselor and peer coordinator. While at Vet’s Place, K’uu was key to the Organic Therapy gardening project, lead the Veteran’s United for Community Service (VUCS) organization, coordinated Marquette University volunteer activities, and also performed many other valued acts of service to the veteran community. His impact on the lives of those who have walked through the doors of Vet’s place has made his family proud and thankful beyond measure. Although his undeniable presence will surely be missed by all, his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all that loved him.
Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, and Wednesday May 26, 2021, from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM. Funeral service at the Milwaukee Krause Funeral Home will be held promptly at 10:00 AM. Burial at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1:00 PM sharp, located at 21731 Spring Street, Union Grove, Wisconsin 53182.
