Priydarshan S. Shelgikar peacefully passed away on June 1, 2021, alongside his beloved cat, Hamilton. He is survived by his parents, Suhas and Sadhana, sister Aditi, brother Chinmaya, sister-in-law Anita, nieces Sonya, Leena, and Mira as well as his loving extended family in India.
Priydarshan, ‘Darshan’, affectionately known as Bachu, was born on April 28, 1974, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a Financial Advisor who worked tirelessly for his clients. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1997 with a degree in Mathematical Economics and Econometrics. As a bright student who loved academics, his aim in life was to continuously learn. He was a voracious reader who could speak eloquently on almost any subject and had a keen interest in philosophy. He truly had the potential to be anything he wanted to be in life.
Darshan had a dynamic and charming personality. His gift of gab could keep you engaged, whether it was a serious discussion or simply lighthearted conversation. He loved to laugh and one of his favorite television shows was “CurbyourEnthusiasm”. He could recap every episode with great enthusiasm- a true connoisseur of Larry David’s brand of humor. He was a creative and sensitive soul. As a young person, he was especially skilled in woodworking and loved painting deer on his creations. He was athletic and excelled in many sports especially basketball, baseball, and football. He was a diehard Milwaukee Bucks and San Diego Chargers fan who dreamed of taking his niece Sonya to her first professional football game. Darshan was an avid weightlifter whose love of pumping iron was influenced by his uncle, Sanjiv. Above all else, he loved his two cats Hamilton and Daisy dearly, and would dote on them endlessly.
He will be deeply missed and remembered forever. Closed casket visitation will be on Friday, June 11, 2021, from 2:15 PM to 3:15 PM at Krause Funeral Home located at 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Memorials appreciated to the San Diego Humane Society.
