Richard J. Hugo

Richard J. Hugo passed away on July 2, 2021, at the age of 88. Loving husband of Patricia (nee Reese) for 67 years. Beloved father of Tamra Hugo-Soto, Tori Hugo (Jarrod Starren), and Kim Hugo. Proud grandfather of Cristina Soto Sullivan (Joseph Sullivan), Nicolas Soto, Talia Starren, and William Starren. Special cousin of James Ek. Preceded in death by sister-in-law Carol Reese and son-in-law Daniel Soto. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Richard’s integrity, work ethic, and dedication to family were the pillars of his life. He treasured time with family and sought visits with extended family both in the area and across the country from Door County to Colorado. He was a connoisseur of desserts, chocolate, action movies, musicals, marches, and big band music. His passion for statistics, history, cars, and sports were apparent to all who knew him. Easy conversations, sprinkled with his dry humor and sensible advice, will be missed at family gatherings.
