Allan passed away peacefully on his 65th wedding anniversary, April 14, 2021 with loving family members at his bedside. He was 87 years old.
Allan was an active outdoorsman who loved fishing on his boat, Queen Bea, and spent many happy days on Lake Michigan sharing his passion with family members, friends and those who chartered trips with him. He enjoyed hunting deer and traveling with friends to Colorado where they’d set up camp and hunt elk. He worked as a carpenter, eventually starting his own business as a building contractor. He was extremely handy and had many hobbies, including building his own fishing poles and making lures, constructing golf clubs and golfing, as well as designing and building woodworking projects that have become family heirlooms. He was also an avid reader, especially enjoying historical novels.
Allan is survived by his wife, Beatrice (nee Witt). He was the loving father of Jim (Kathy) Butenhoff, Jane (Jerry) Eiler, Tom (Jennifer Donohue) Butenhoff and Linda (Jeff) Radke. He was the proud grandpa of Nick (Molly) Butenhoff, Zack (Noah Wickey) Butenhoff, Calyssa (Matt) Helland, Cora (Jacob) Wielgus, Patrick Butenhoff, Emma Jo Butenhoff, Caitlin (Joe) McCudden, Allison (Jordan Cain) Radke and Ethan Radke. He was the cherished great-grandpa of Liam, Logan, Blake, Eliza and Marin and dear brother of Clarence (the late Carole) Butenhoff. Allan will be missed by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Alice Butenhoff and his sister, June (Fred) Theilacker. Private family services were held.
