Ann Gregory Grusin, age 64, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at home in Shorewood, Wisconsin, after a 10-year struggle with multiple myeloma.
She was born June 2, 1954, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to William and Adelaide Gregory. She was a 1972 graduate of New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois, and a 1976 graduate of University of Illinois, with a BA in Art History. She married Richard Grusin on July 28, 1973, in Skokie, Illinois. She worked in a variety of computer support positions at University California-Berkeley, College of William and Mary, Georgia institute of Technology, and Lawrence Technological University.
In her professional and personal life, Ann was unflinchingly supportive of those around her, whether her closest family and friends or a stranger in need of help. She loved cooking and eating good food, read widely online and in print, and was an avid doer of crossword puzzles. She had an extraordinary eye for color, line, and visual composition.
Ann is survived by her husband, Richard; her two children, Sarah and Sam, and their spouses, Carl and Helen; her two sisters, Kathy and Susan, and her brother Doug; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The memorial service will be limited to immediate family. Family, friends, and others whose lives Ann touched are welcomed to sit shiva with the family at 3900 North Farwell Avenue, Shorewood, Wisconsin, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 21, 2019 and 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, April 22, 2019.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer charitable donations to the National Health Law Program in memory of Ann: https://healthlaw.org/how-to-help/donate/.
