Ann “Little Ann” Truell Battle was born on August 9, 1936 in Shelby, Mississippi to Viola Williams and Matron Truell. Ann received her education in Shelby, Mississippi. Ann “Little Ann” Truell Battle was born on August 9, 1936 in Shelby, Mississippi to Viola Williams and Matron Truell.
Ann received her education in Shelby, Mississippi. In 1952, she met her soul mate O.C. Battle in front of the Post Office. At a time when movies were five cents and everyone shopped at the Dry Goods Store, she fell in love. On March 27, 1954, Ann and O.C. were married in South Bend, Indiana. To this union five children were born.
In 1955, the Battles moved to Milwaukee, where they made this their final home.
Ann retired from Milwaukee County Civil Service after 25 years of service as an Environmental Services Attendant for County Hospital. However, her passion was helping people. She spent over 40 years as a Foster Parent and Home Healthcare Provider to many who came into her home, Carol was the last.
Sister Battle was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness and part of the Hampton Heights Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses for over 60 years. She enjoyed being a part of the hospitality team, chauffeuring other members for field service, attending the annual conventions, and witnessing the goodness of Jehovah throughout the community. Ann enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Ann leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children: Clyde (Juliet), Margonette (Shyrell Sr.), Vicko (Brenda), and Meshell, all of Milwaukee, WI; Grandchildren: Shunta, Regina, Shawn, Melva, Takilya, Terrance, Katrice, Cameron, Kelsey, Ranetta, Carissa, Keon, Dominique and DeVon; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Proceeding Ann in death were her parents Viola Williams and Matron Truell, her husband O.C. Battle, her daughter Sherron Renee Battle, her son Brent Battle, her grandchildren; Linetta, Jevon, Jemil Jamarr, Shameir, Tamera and Shyrell Jr. Her sister Myrtle and other family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, followed by a Service at 11:00 AM, at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin.
