Armin Henry Engelmann, Jr. born February 11, 1932 to parents Armin Sr. and Irene (Skiera) Engelmann.
Passed away peacefully September 13, 2017 at the age of 85. Loving husband and soul mate of Shirley for 62 years. Loving Dad to Jeffery (Dorothy), John (Sue) Engelmann and Julie (Jay) Thumann.
Proud Grandpa and great-grandpa. Dear brother of Janet Janus (Ron). And will be deeply missed by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Armin and Shirley enjoyed a wonderful long marriage of 62 years. They traveled to many areas in the USA, Germany, Norway, Italy, Rome, Hawaii and Scotland.
Armin was Parts Department Manager for Dodge dealerships for 40 years, proud of compliments for having the cleanest and best organized Parts Department in Milwaukee. He was a home wine maker for 40 years, receiving 10 medals from The American Wine Society and ribbons at Wisconsin State Fair. He remained active in Scouting during his childrens’ scouting years, as Cub Master for 120 boys at Washington Irving School. He was the “go to guy” helping Shirley with Sons of Norway events. He loved life as he grew up in Milwaukee near Booth and Pierce Streets, and then to Thiensville. They built a home and lived on Casper Street which they felt it was like the TV show “Mayberry” with many neighbors and friends. After retiring, a move to Germantown added the fun of golfing and new friends, and enjoying new grandchildren, Jack and Jacob.
All his life he lived a strong Catholic Faith, an example to his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by friends and family, and was very loved by grandsons; Joe (friend Kate) Engelmann, Jack and Jacob Thumann, Alex (Kinsey) Engelmann and Ricky (Natalie) Engelmann. Great Grandchildren Lily, Amelia, Lucy and Mason.
