Muskego – Kempen, Barbara Ann. (née Paul), of Muskego, WI, was born into eternal life February 5, 2022, at 84. Reunited with her parents John and Margaret Paul (née Tretow), husband Eugene A. Kempen, son James E. Kempen, sister Virginia (Ewrin) Rhode and sister-in-law Audrey Paul. Beloved mother of Mark Kempen, Todd Kempen, Judith Wuenstel (Gregory) and Michael Kempen. Dear sister to Gerald Paul and Ronald Paul (Judy). Further survived by grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Barbara was a resident of Muskego for 76 years. Her parents instilled a good work ethic in her and her siblings. As a young girl, she worked many hours truck gardening. Also doing household chores, which included cleaning her widower grandfather’s home. She loved to iron clothes and would help her mother after school. She took pride in everything she did.
Amongst doing chores she and her siblings had a polka band called the “Tess Corners Sod Busters” and later when she became a teenager the name was changed to the “Melody Larks.” They performed at many events, including weddings, picnics, and at the Muskego Town Hall after the farm meetings. As a teenager Barbara loved to go to dances and that is where she met the love of her life, Eugene. After high school, she spent nine months at beautician school and became a beautician in downtown Milwaukee. A year later, Barbara and Eugene were married. She became a dedicated mother to five children and homemaker.
Barbara will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
