Betty was our next door neighbor and dear friend to my mother. We were the first couple of homes of many on that street, with very young families, growing up through my mid teen years. I remember Betty coming over for coffee weekly, in our kitchen, where she also helped my mom color her hair. Betty was always smiling and had a memorable, sweet, cheerful laugh. I remember her being a relief to our church, to have her as a talented organist in my church. My father and I last saw her about 10 or 15 years ago, with her husband, in our old church basement for a special church anniversary. We sat together and had a nice chat. I didn't realize she was a nurse and was involved with care, locally. I am an RN and I wonder if somehow she inspired me. I remember the Mattsons putting out their Christmas Nativity Scene. As a small child, I couldn't wait for that colorful, realistic scene to go up, across their front lawn, thinking the animals and people were alive. I do think of the Mattsons with that scene every year, as I continue to grow a similar set out on my porch to spread the Christmas message. I started setting it up again with this memory 2 weeks ago. I have now addednew the wise men, shepherd and angels on the lawn. Thank you, Mattsons. Blessings to the family. Love, Linda

I will miss her spirit, her music, and her love. I will always cherish her care after my mom died. As a young person at 13 years old, it was hard to process that grief. The greatest comfort I remember is Aunt Betty wrapping me up in her arms and letting me know I was loved.

In the '90's Betty manicured Joyce's mother's nails as a volunteer at Luther Manor. They shared many good times as P.K's. We will miss Betty when we pass by her patio door on our walks at Luther Manor.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
