Passed away peacefully on February 5, 2022 at the age of 90.
Carol was born in Plymouth, Wisconsin on October 2, 1937. She was baptized on November 2, 1931 and confirmed on May 20, 1945 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dundee, Wisconsin. Upon graduating from Winnebago Lutheran Academy on June 5, 1949, she attended Emergency Teachers Course at Concordia College. She taught for two years at Mt. Calvary Evangelical Lutheran School in Kimberly, Wisconsin and then three years at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran School in Neenah, Wisconsin.
After these five years of teaching, she took a position as a medical secretary at Wiley Smith Clinic in Fond du Lac. It was there she met her late husband, John C. Hanson. This marriage was blessed with one son, William S. Hanson. In 1965 they moved to Wauwatosa and later to Brookfield in 2007. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa from 1965 until the time of her death.
Those left to mourn her passing are her son William; grandsons, Samuel and Joseph; two nieces, seven great nieces; two nephews and other relatives. She is also survived by her dear friend, Natalie Zimmerman.
Preceded in death by her parents Rev. Walter and Bernice Strohshein, twin sister Corinne Wachholz, sister-in-law Lois Hanson and brothers-in-law Herbert Wachholz and Roger Hanson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
