Charles W. “Chuck” Elftman, Jr., 68, was surrounded by his family when he was called to come home far too soon on Monday, November 15, 2021. A man of quiet calmness, with strong convictions and strength, his dependability and protectiveness defines his life.
He is survived by his wife & best friend of 40 years, Annette (nee Poppie), and cherished children: Megan, CJ (Jessica), Michael (Caitlin).
His precious grandchildren: Timothy Michael 2.5 years old and Charlee Rose 2.5 months old.
Loving mother Geraldine Elftman and his much-loved siblings: Linda (Keith) Woolridge of Whitewater; Mae (Darrell) Honea of McEwen, TN; Kevin (Susan) Elftman of Dunedin, FL; Bryan (Sally) Elftman of North Prairie; Clay (Trish) Elftman of Pewaukee; Kurt Elftman of Washington, DC. Dear In-laws: Ron (Jennifer) Poppie of Ettrick; Teresa Poppie of Killen, AL; Lynn Poppie of Wauwatosa; and Bernadine Poppie of Pewaukee. He is further survived by 29 wonderful nieces and nephews, 26 great-nieces and nephews, beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
As Chuck entered Heaven he was greeted by his father, Charles W. Elftman Sr., father-in-law Richard Poppie, brothers-in-law William Poppie and Patrick Poppie.
Born July 5, 1953 in Plum City, Wisconsin the second child of Charles and Geraldine (nee Richardson) Elftman. Graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1971.
He served as a Deputy Sheriff for 34 years, most of his career with the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department. Chuck loved: his family deeply, history, mysteries of the world, cooking, hunting, fishing, Tootsie Rolls, Coffee Nips, his Mother’s chocolate chip cookies, Bugs Bunny and The 3 Stooges.
He was an amazing Husband, outstanding Father, exceedingly proud Granpa, devoted Son and Brother!
