Passed away peacefully Friday, November 10, 2017. Age 70. Beloved husband of fifty years to Carin. Loving father of Scott (Rose) and Brandon (Lori). Cherished grandpa of Emma Rose. Step-Grandfather of Gage and Paige. Fond brother of George Larson. Preceded in death by his parents Curtis Sr. and Ruth (nee Bergquist). Also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Curt and Carin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 10th, 2017 and Curt celebrated his 70th birthday on October 3rd, 2017 following a wonderful trip to Ireland in August. They enjoyed living life to the fullest and were an awesome team.
Curt served six years in the U.S. Army Reserve at the U.S. Army Hospital #5501 – Fort Snelling Minnesota. Trained as a medical hospital corpsman and advanced to the rank of specialist #5. He maintained regular contact with his fellow Army Reserve group until 2017 and organized reunions in August of many years since the 1990’s.
Curt graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a degree in Marketing and Distributive Education in December of 1971. Curt enjoyed getting together with was his University of Minnesota college classmates, four of whom accepted positions at Hennepin Technical College. He earned his Master’s in Business Administration at Marquette University in 1998.
Curt had a successful career as a Vice President of Sales and Marketing Executive for Briggs and Stratton Corporation. He later established Curtis Research Associates, a marketing and business development company, which he operated until 2017, successfully serving a number of different industrial companies.
Active hobbies included antique cars, classic cars and boating. He especially enjoyed judging sailboat races on Team #15 at the Pewaukee Yacht Club as well as boating with friends on both Pewaukee Lake and the Sarasota Intercostal Waterways.
Curt served on several boards of director roles including: First Stage Children’s Theater, Chamber Theater, United Performing Arts Fund, VP West Winds Greens Home Owners Association, President of Magnum Condominium Association, and VP Treasurer of the Antique Automobile Club of America Southeast Wisconsin and Southwest Florida regions.
He was an active member of the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Porsche Club of America and the Southwest Florida British Car Club. Curt was a member in good standing with the Wisconsin City and Country Club
Curt had a passion for genealogy and was successful in reuniting family connections in both Sweden and Norway.
