My sincere condolences to the entire Walk and extended family. I didn't know Dana but worked with Dan for many years. If Dana was anything like his brother he would've been a great friend, brother, son, and husband. It's a shame he's been lost so soon.
Cory Ott left a message on March 2, 2020:
I extend my sincerest condolences to the entire Walk family, and to anyone who was touched by the kind heart that Dana had. Can’t believe this is real. I was fortunate enough to know Dana for 4 years back in high school, and let’s just say he was a prime example and role model for all fathers throughout the world. I’ll never forget all of the ice fishing stories, or him showing me through his countless tackle boxes, just waiting for that next big catch. As I was dating his daughter Melanie at the time, I feared Dana like any other high school boy would — but over time I learned that he was one of the kindest, caring, and funny individuals I have encountered to this very day. Here is to an incredible man who put his family before everything — May you Rest In Peace and catch all of the walleye that exist up in heaven. To the Walk family, I am so sorry for your loss, as I send you all nothing but love, prayers, and positive thoughts during this extremely difficult time. -Sincerely, Cory Ott

My thoughts and prays to the Walk family. 35 Years ago I worked with Dana. We worked together installing cabinets and top for kitchens, schools, and hospitals. He was hard-working and a caring man. Our paths would cross over the years and every unexpected run-in would feel like I just saw him yesterday. His friendship and caring smiles are timeless. My heart mournes for your loss. Peace to you and your family.

Dori and family....Jim and I have just heard that Dana was victim to this horrific shooting. We are without words to express our sorrow for you and the family. Being neighbors for over 20 years and seeing your family grow, we never would have believed this tragedy could end such a vibrant part of it. We will remember Dana with the kindest of thoughts as a man, a father, a husband taken too soon. He had so much life and fishing yet to do. Our thoughts and prayers too all of you. May you all find the peace and healing you need to move forward.

First I would like to send my condolences to the family... I worked with Dana and was one of the first people he talked to every morning... We shared a few minutes talking about what we had done the night before, everyday!!! Going back to work is going to be hard waiting for him to stop by and talk...or while we are waiting to leave work and not seeing him at the very front of the line, always first to punch out and get home to his family!!! He will be dearly missed by all of us at Miller Brewery. (Rest in peace, Brother...)

It is with great sadness that we ( The Reinicke Family) offer our deepest sympathy to the entire Walk Family. We have fond memories of Dana (and Duane) as teenagers coming over to our cottage on Pewaukee Lake just to hang out. It didn’t matter which of my brothers or sisters were there— Dana was always up for friendly conversations and joined in with whatever my family was up to. Dana was truly one of the nicest people we will ever know. He was kind and sweet. We will miss his beautiful smile. With Love, The Reinicke Family — Kurt, Chris, Karen, Coco, Jenny, Erica, Paul and their spouses and my mom, Joan.

I am so very, very sad to hear that my old friend Dana Walk has passed on. I am so unhappy about this circumstance and pray for him and his four co-worker friends. Wish something could be done to have prevented it. Dana and I worked together on and off over the years and we became good friends. Dana brightened the day just by being there and he was such a good person to everyone. He talked about fishing, ice boating and his wonderful wife and family every chance he got and his values were very high. Great person. Condolences to the family's of his four co-worker friends and to Dana's family. God bless.
