David Jasso, Jr. – Entered eternal life to join his beloved wife of 48 years, Deborah Joan (nee Heyne) with our Savior on February 2, 2023, age 83.
David was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin, on August 26, 1939, to David Jasso and Josephine (Trevino) Jasso. David and Debbie married in 1974, cherished each other and were inseparable throughout their marriage.
David lived in Milwaukee his entire life, attending school at Boys Tech. He served in the army at the age of 23 and was stationed in Alaska. After the service David joined his father at Wehr Steel and worked as a laborer. In 1972 David started working for Horner Plumbing as a journeyman plumber, and later as their warehouse manager until his retirement. Smelt fishing at the lakefront was a favorite pastime of David’s, as well as tending to his garden. In his younger years, David enjoyed singing in the band LoDuca.
David served the Lord as a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, volunteering 17 years for the Habitat of Humanity, and serving in soup kitchens for the Ebenezer Lutheran and Bethany Lutheran Churches. David was gifted with a pure tenor voice which he shared in the Milwaukee Acapella Choir. Both David and Debbie loved singing in church choirs together throughout their marriage. Each Christmas the family looked forward to his beautiful rendition of O Holy Night.
David’s deep and tender love for Debbie was shown in his single care for her during her last six years of life, and serves as an inspiration to the loved ones left behind. Known as “Geer” to his siblings, David was the dear brother of the late Bill (Joyce) Jasso, Isabel Hernandez, the late Josephine Zuelzke, the late Juanita (David) Wozniak, Ben (Maureen) Jasso, Dan Jasso, Robert Jasso and Rick Jasso. Brother-in-law of Timothy (Kathleen) Heyne, Christine (David) Ploof, and Nora (Brad) Hayes. Best friend of Art Bartle and Colleen Horner. Also loved by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. David’s presence and generous smile will be missed by all.
Gathering at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 12012 West North Avenue, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin on Saturday February 25, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Memorial at 12:00 PM.
