David Alfani, 62, of Muskego, Wisconsin passed away in his husband’s arms on May 11, 2022. Beloved partner/husband Todd Bertsch of 29 years. He is also survived and loved by his brothers Robert (Lisa) Alfani of Winchester, OH., Mark (Darlene) Alfani of Canton, OH. Joe (Holly) of Alliance, OH., and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

David was born in Alliance, OH. He later moved to North Carolina where he spent many years. He had always cherished his time in North Carolina and the vast memories he experienced; including meeting Todd.

For nearly 30 years he courageously battled emphysema and later COPD. David was selfless, wise, witty, and always ready to share his point of view. His caring spirit and laugh will always be cherished by those he leaves behind.

David was preceded in death by his parents Ronald Alfani and Beverly (Glenn) Spore. Also, a beloved family pet Sandi, who meant the world to David.

A gathering to celebrate David’s life will occur at David and Todd’s home on June 25, 2022 from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

How lucky we were to meet and become friends years before we became family ! So many happy memories we shared. David you will be missed far more than I'm sure you would be comfortable with . My deepest sympathies to you Todd, and to all who loved him.

So sorry for the loss of David my friend, neighbor and number one fan of my “bars”. I could always count on him to critique anything I brought or sent over that I just made for the first time.. David always seemed so Happy when I would go over to visit when Todd was out of town working,never complained about being sick ,just happy visiting. His smile will be forever in my memory until we meet again.

Todd, We are so incredibly sorry the loss of David. WE know that you must be exausted and at a loss as what to do next, but how lucky were you to be with him as he passed on to wait for you forever. It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to David! He made the best cup of coffee, and while visit I got it was always perking by 5:30 am, before feet hit the floor, he had the greatest wit, laugh, debates, and knowledge of world issues. He will be so missed, and I am truly blessed to have a part of his and Todds journey! loved him so much, Rest In Peace David and condolences to Todd and all the family!

Todd and David- You have both touched our lives in so many ways. Your friendships have impacted Eric and I for more than 20 years, first with Eric and then with me. Todd, My heart breaks for your loss, as I know the love you had for David was so very deep. Many people never find what you and David had, and you will carry his love and memories in your heart always. Thank you for sharing so much about David and your life together. We had so many laughs as he kept you and I on task when we would “chit chat” too much. He was a tough boss!!! Mark and I are here for you, and want to do anything we can to help you. I am forever grateful for the chance I had to know David and being able to call him a friend. I only met him one time, but he left an everlasting impression on me. I was in WI for a wedding and Todd was taking my sister n I out on the town while we were there. We stopped in to meet and visit with David before going out and the minute we walked in the door, he was truly amazing! He made us feel right at home. He was always asking us if we needed anything. Plus, he was one of the funniest people I’ve ever met! He was so much fun! He made me laugh so much that my ribs hurt the next day! David, I’ll always remember you telling jokes while we were sitting in the garage having a few smokes;) Thank you for the memories and for being such a wonderful husband to Todd. While we were there, it was obvious how much love there was between you both. It was beautiful to witness. You will be greatly missed, but ALWAYS REMEMBERED!! Goodbye, My Friend We’ve had some wonderful & fun times. It’s hard for me to write this because I am feeling sad knowing your husband’s life will never be the same without you. David, I am so lost without you already. I couldn't have asked for a better husband, you definitely were the better half of me. I will never forget how you cared for me & taught me throughout the years. Your selflessness is unmatched. I am so thankful for our time Sunday when you came off the ventilator and were doing great. You were cracking jokes & laughing with myself and your brother whom you hadn't seen in a long time. It gave us time to say our goodbyes and share our thoughts with each other. Again, you were there comforting me and assured me everything would be alright and that I needed to continue my life, even though you said it was time for yours to come to an end. You said you were tired of fighting this awful illness and you were at peace with that. My hope for you David is that you can finally breathe. Please know you will be me with me everyday for the rest of my life. I love you David. Rest in peace
