Dona Margaret Eckhardt

Born to eternal life and reunited with her beloved husband, Bill Eckhardt on October 7, 2021, Dona Margaret Eckhardt, 91 years old, passed away on October 7, 2021. Dona was born in Milwaukee on May 1, 1930, to Orrin and Ella Mergener. Upon graduation from Salomon Juneau High school in 1949, she married Bill Eckhardt in 1950. They remained married for 58 ½ years until Bill’s death on March 11, 2009.

Dona enjoyed golf, bowling, skiing, and doing jigsaw puzzles. She belonged to the Ladies McDonald Group, Waukesha Stroke Club, and the Church Seniors. In between jobs, Dona did a lot of volunteer work.

Dona is survived by her brother-in-law, Kenneth Eckhardt, her sister-in-law, Marion Hauser, and 10 nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother-in-law, Robert Eckhardt. Dona was also dearly loved by her neighbors, the Kerlin and May families, and will be deeply missed. It was an absolute honor to call her “Family” as well as a friend. We will miss her beautiful smile and her feistiness.
