Donna Brostrom (nee Moore) age 72, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Donna was born July 2, 1949, in Moline, Illinois to Dorothy Thorngren and Dennis Moore.

Donna grew up in Moline, graduated from Moline High School, where she met her husband, James (Jim) Brostrom, and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 20, 1971. Jim and Donna moved to Waukesha, WI in 1973 where they built a life with their daughter, Valerie, and their many friends. Donna had previously worked in the office at Hader Industries and later in her career she worked at First Weber as a successful realtor. She retired from First Weber in 2014 and has enjoyed her retirement with Jim and her many friends.

Donna enjoyed spending her time on the bocce courts at Albanese, socializing with her neighbors and friends, or cruising around in her pontoon boat on Pewaukee Lake. She made friends everywhere she went, and she knew everyone! Over the last few winters, both Jim and she have been snowbirds living in Fort Meyers, Florida, where they have a lovely home. The both of them met new friends and found new places to visit such as her favorite restaurant Fat Katz for their White-Hot Shrimp dinner. During the baseball season, you could always find Donna watching and cheering on her favorite MLB team, the Boston Red Sox. One of her favorite vacations with Jim was attending Fenway Park and sitting in the Green Monster. She was our social butterfly, always seeing friends, having a drink, or playing games with her many friends. Donna will be greatly missed, but her legacy will live on.

Survivors include her husband James Brostrom, and daughter Valerie Brostrom (Josh Ryan) (Chicago, IL).

Donna is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Thorngren, her father Dennis Moore, stepmother Marilyn Moore, sister Diana Moore Evans, and mother-in law Margaret Taylor and Abbie her Airedale that she spoke fondly of.

Visitation will be at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Thursday, August 19th, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, immediately followed by a short celebration of life at 7:00 PM. Soon, the family will be having a party for Donna, to celebrate her life.

Valerie, I have been trying to call your Dad for several months, to no avail. I last talked to Donna in July 2021 where she expressed some concern about Jim's health. I had no idea, until today via a google search for Donna's contact information, that Donna passed away shortly after that conversation. I am so sorry for your loss. Can you let me know if I can contact Jim? I have two phone numbers, neither gets me through to him. Jim was a long time friend, would dearly love to express my condolences to him.

Donna was always so kind, and so funny. She loved her Red Sox. I am so glad I got to meet her.

Jim, My heart dropped upon hearing of Donna's passing. I have been keeping you and Valerie in my prayers. I hope God continues to comfort you during this sorrowful time. May she rest in peace. God Bless!

Jim, Tim and I were so sorry to hear about Donna’s passing. She was one of my best friends in high school. We rode her tandem bike all over Moline whenever we could. Our friendship was short-lived it’s just not fair Donna was a remarkable person for only knowing her a year and a half but I’m sure glad I had that year and a half to stay with me forever she rest in peace

Jim and Val....you are both in my thoughts and prayers. The best part of my week was meeting up with Donna and Jim at Casa Tequila....i will miss her terribly.

Val - I just found out about about your mom. It's terrible news to hear. She was a good friend. I talked to her and your dad for his birthday a few weeks ago. Please call me at 317-370-4728. In the meantime, I will call your dad.

Jim and Valerie, I am thinking of you. Everyday, it is still a shock that she is gone, and , yet, we have so many memories. Linda graflund
