At the age of 92 after a brief battle with cancer, Dorothy found heavenly peace on Monday, June 7, 2021.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Elmer and her youngest daughter, Tracy Janeczko. She was a loving mother, survived by her children Michael (Irene) Hilgendorf, Judy (Michael) Stock, Susan (Alan) Brown and Heidi (James) Johnson. Dorothy was blessed and is survived by grandchildren Damian, Shane, Demetrius and Dakota Hilgendorf, Valerie Sereno, Vanessa Hood, Michelle Bethke, Michael Brown, Nicole Edwards, and Patricia Wright and great-grandchildren Alan, Jameson, Jada, Sloane, Nash, Sydney, Dexter, and Liliana. She is further survived by her brother, John Maslowski and many relatives and friends.
Dorothy’s greatest passions were her family and her garden. Affectionately known by some as “The Pickle Lady”, Dorothy eagerly shared the rewards of her garden as well as any baked goods she whipped up in the kitchen. Dorothy did the bookkeeping for her late husband Elmer’s business when she was younger. She volunteered as a den mother for the cub scouts as well as being a leader for projects with Waukesha County 4-H. Dorothy was an avid sewer and crafter.
She will be remembered as a generous, caring and fun-loving soul with the most beautiful smile.
Remembrances may be made in the form desired by friends.
Visitation will be held at Elm Grove Lutheran Church, 945 Terrace Drive, Elm Grove, Wisconsin on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM. Funeral Service at 11:30 AM.
