Erik Jon Seidl, 44, of Hartland, WI, left this world on May 5, 2023 after a courageous 4.5 year long battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children.
Erik was a longtime employee of Crown Lift Trucks, up until his forced early retirement. He fell in love with sports while catching for his high school baseball team, and was a true fan of the Packers and Brewers – he loved to chat to debate, argue, and celebrate all things sports. He was a caring dad; he coached Tyler’s baseball teams for several years, and cheered Julia on in gymnastics and diving. Those who loved Erik appreciated his stubbornness – he never did anything he didn’t want to do… including letting cancer take him easily. He will be greatly missed.
Erik is survived by his loved children, Julia and Tyler, and his wife, Lisa (nee Butzin). He is further survived by his brother, Jason Seidl, and mother, Carol (nee Prissel). He was a loved son-in-law to Debby Casper, Tom Butzin, and Sanjuana Butzin. Loved brother-in-law of Robert Butzin. Erik is joining his father, Gary Seidl, who was loved and missed, in heaven. He is also survived by many other friends and family members.
His family would like to thank the staff at Froedtert Clinical Cancer Center, Mayo Clinic, Aurora, and Horizon Home Hospice for their great care over the years.
Gathering at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive in Brookfield, Wisconsin will be held on Thursday, May 11, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Service will follow at 6:00 PM.
