Ermin was a professional fundraiser spending his entire career with the Priests of the Sacred Heart. After his retirement he volunteered for 30 years at Clement Manor. He and Pauline were longtime Hales Corners residents and retired to Clement Manor in 2011.
He was enthusiastic about life and golf was his favorite hobby. He often spent several days a week on the course. Ermin was proud of golfing his age multiple times, and continued golfing into his 90’s. When not golfing, he was also an avid needle worker, spending hours completing and framing over 80 works which now grace the homes of many relatives. He was selfless, generous and tender hearted, treating everyone he met with kindness and warmth. Above all, he enjoyed being there for his family. A zoom celebration of his 100th birthday was held on 1/17/22. His whole family joined in singing from C0, MN, MT, TN, TX and WI. He was able to see all of us at one time and we will truly miss him.
Ermin was a proud US Navy Veteran (aviation machinist) who was at Pearl Harbor during the Dec.7, 1941 attack and continued to serve in the Pacific during WWII on Guadalcanal, then was again called up to serve during the Korean War.
He and Pauline were Honorary Members of the Priests of the Sacred Heart (SCJ), where he volunteered as a photographer and she sorted donations, aiding the missions of the SCJs. They were also longtime parishioners and volunteers at St. Mary Catholic Faith Community.
Gathering will be held at St. Mary’s Parish, 9520 West Forest Home Avenue, Hales Corners, Wisconsin, on Saturday, March 19, 2022, from 10:00 – 10:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Private placement of remains will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
