Age 85, born October 3, 1931, departed after a lengthy illness on September 12, 2017. Beloved father of Gregory (Nancy) Hyman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Dr. Firdina Hyman of New Orleans, Louisiana. Proud grandfather of Joseph (Kelli) Wray of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dear brother of Sterling (Bennie) Hyman, III of Mequon, Wisconsin and Dr. Ladelle Hyman of Houston, TX. Firdie will be missed by several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.

Firdie was a decorated Korean War veteran and served in combat in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. After his honorable discharge from military service, Firdie worked in the automotive industry first as a welder and eventually retired as a supervisor at the A.O. Smith Corporation in 1986.

Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 9:00 am followed by funeral services at 10:00 am at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2207 North 2nd Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Interment will be held following the funeral service at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, Wisconsin at 2:00 pm.
