Departed this life on Thursday, October 5, 2017. Age 82. Preceded in death by his wife, Marva; parents, George and Carrie Slade Sr.; brother, McDavis and sisters, Florial and Gwendolyn. George leaves to mourn his passing, his children, George III (Erma), Samuel (Angela), Sonja and Marla (Darryl); 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Long time devoted friend of Gail Kelley and her children, Angela and Laurence. Dear brother of Marie, Betty and Billy. Nephew of Dallas. George will be missed by the entire Slade family and many long time friends.

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 11:00 AM until time of service at 12 Noon. Procession to Graceland Cemetery.

George proudly served in the U.S. Army. He coached Little League Baseball and was past President of Beckum-Stapleton Little League Baseball. George was one of the first African American service station owners of a Shell Franchise on 12th and Walnut.
