My sincere and deep condolences to the Stern family, and my mentor, Coach Stern. We traveled those four years at BEHS. He built the track & field history for our school. He was a true leader, and is dearly missed. God speed, coach.

Dear Nancy and Family, Please accept our sincere and heartfelt sympathy. As the person who took Jerry's biology position when he became Assistant Principal at East, I would like to offer a few thoughts. From my first days, Jerry was supportive and helpful. He didn't have as easy job acting as a buffer between a number of us and A.O. Smith. We did our jobs to the best of our abilities and he knew that and supported us - he had our backs. We also had his back when help was needed. I celebrated the day he took over as Principal. Teaching was a lot more fun and rewarding after that. He gave Keith Carlson and myself the latitude to develop ecology programs and the Nature Center at East. He knew that we had our students' best interests at heart and that was ours and his philosophy of education. Rest in peace, Jerry, and hope that our work helped make this a better world.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Jerry Stern was a force at Brookfield East— as a coach, assistant principal, and principal. He loved East, “a place of business.” I knew him as a student from 1967; as a teacher from 1973. His vigor and energy were evident to the end. My thoughts are with his wife Nancy and his family.

Nancy and Family, Denny and I were so sad to hear of Jerry's death. We always enjoyed his enthusiasm, love for the Navy and love for his family. He will be missed by his fellow Navy Leaguers. I always loved how he introduced himself as a "tin can" sailor. Brings a sme to my face. As Christian's, we have the promise of everlasting life in heaven with our Savior Jesus Christ. What a friend we have in Jesus! Those words bring comfort. May Jerry's memory never fade from our lives here on Earth. So glad God gave us the opportunity to know such a good friend. Our deepest sympathies to each of you. May God bless and kerp.you always!
