Helen was born in Milwaukee, WI on March 14, 1927 to Frank and Hilda Stetler. As a child she enjoyed visiting the Washington Park zoo, figure skating and art projects. She attended Washington High School and Downer College where she majored in English, Art and Journalism. Her favorite job after college was working for Fox Theaters. She married Fredric Bessert of West Allis, WI, a civil engineer, and they had two daughters. Over the years, she worked as an editor for multiple publications from the TESA news letter to doing the public relations work for the Wisconsin Bakers Association and Graef, Anhalt, Schloemer & Associates, including the Grand Avenue Mall.
She is survived by daughters Barbara Cisler of Cincinnati, OH and Lynn Domack of Miami, FL. She is also survived by sons in law Mark Cisler and Thomas Domack, granddaughter Audrey Cisler and step-grandson Jesse Domack.
Services will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Monday, January 23rd. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM, with a service and reception following.
