Brookfield- Helen “Jo” Shannon (nee Hildebrandt) 95, of Brookfield, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023. She was born on January 23^rd, 1928 to Harold and Rhoda Hildebrandt. She was married to Arthur Shannon for 64 years.

A graduate of Wauwatosa High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Jo was an avid golfing member of Westmoor Country Club. Jo was active with the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, women’s and bridge clubs, church, and the Girl Scouts. She loved to play bridge, read, watch sports, and sew. She adored her children, grandchildren and their children.

She is survived by her daughter Susan Engeleiter of St. Paul, MN; sons Tom (Sue) Shannon of Saukville, WI, Mike (Mary Sue) Shannon of Vail, CO and Dan (Lynn) Shannon of Hartland, WI. She is beloved by her eleven grandchildren Andy (Tara), Jenny (Seth), Tim (Susanna), Peter, Ross (Sahithi), Kelly (Brett), Brian (Kyle), Kerry (Robbie), Sarah (Eric), Becky (Nick) and Katie (Eddie) and her great grandchildren Avery, James, Mary Adair, George, Arthur, Talia, Annie, Jack, William, Charlie, Clare, and James Michael. Jo is also survived by her sister Louise Heermans.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Shannon and her sister Dorothy Schmidt.

The family is grateful to the wonderful staff at the Congregational Home.

A private gathering and burial was held at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
