Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, January 4, 2019, age 87. Beloved husband of Dolores (nee Dixon) for 65 years. Loving father of Sandy (Pete) Skodras, John (Kim) Argenzio, and Donna (Clay) Creighton. Also loved by grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Arturo.
James was taken from his mother at age 2 when she passed. He then, along with his brothers, was raised by nuns in the St. Joseph Catholic Orphanage in Peekskill, NY. James joined the Marine Corps at age 17 and fought in the battles of Inchon and the Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War. He also fought in Viet Nam near An Hoa and Dong Ha. Retired after 20 years in the Marines. He then went on to work at Kohl’s Food Warehouse for 25 years. His retirement included working hard at the family farm and enjoying his family and grandchildren. Please pray the rosary in his memory, as he did daily.
