James Nordman Myhre

James Nordman Myhre found eternal peace on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the age of 90 surrounded by his loving family.  Born September 8, 1927 in Madison, Wisconsin to the late Anne (Nordman) and Fred Myhre.  The family moved to Ladysmith, Wisconsin his junior year in High School and he graduated from Ladysmith High School in 1945.  Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the 317^th Station Hospital in Weisbaden, Germany.  He was very proud of his military service and was discharged in spring of 1947.  He attended River Falls State College for one year and transferred to the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1948.  Graduated with a degree in Accounting in 1951 and worked as an auditor for the Wisconsin Department of Taxation.  Earned his CPA certificate in 1953, joined Allis Chalmers in 1956 and worked there and at its finance subsidiaries for over 30 years.  He retired as Vice President and Treasurer of the Allis Chalmers Credit Corporation in 1990.  He is currently a member of Unity Lutheran Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin but previously was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in West Allis for nearly 50 years.  He never missed an opportunity to help others.

Preceded in death by his parents and infant brother John and sister Gwendolyn.  Married Ardyce Olson in 1952 and had two children Richard (Carolyn), San Rafael, California and Carlynn (Kurt) Alt, Whitefish Bay.  Devoted husband, father and grandfather to Justin, Isabelle, William and Ava Alt and James J. Myhre.

Memorial Gathering at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  Funeral Service at Unity Lutheran Church, Cross of Life Campus, 20700 West North Avenue Brookfield, Wisconsin on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to Unity Lutheran Church or Lymphoma  Leukemia Society.

Jim was a member of Merrill Hills Golf Course since 1973 and active golfer until rotator cuff surgery ended his play.

Jim and Ardyce traveled extensively visiting 21 countries in addition to many locations/cities in the US and Canada and numerous trips to Hawaii.
