James W. Brown passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at age 86.
James Willis Brown was born on January 29, 1935. The youngest son in the union of the late Sylvia and Frank Brown in Moscow, Arkansas. He attended School in Pine Bluff until moving to California in 1944. He attended school in Oakland, California continued his education. At age 17, united with Francis M. Davis in that union Lamar and Loretta was born. On May 9, 1954, he moved to Milwaukee, WI when united with Verdis L. Phinisee in January 16, 1969. To that union Chris P. Brown and Sandra P. Brown. He retired from Milwaukee County Transit Co. in 1994.
He is preceded in death by one son, Lamar A. Brown Sr. and three sisters, Osela Washington, Hattie Simmons, Margaret Johnson; and four brothers, Tuck, Garfield, Robert and Frank Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Verdis and two daughters, Loretta and Sandra; one son, Chris; one sister, Mary Shaw and one brother, Freddie Brown Sr.; a host of grandchildren, LaMar Brown Sr. (LaShone), Samaka Williams, Kevin Brown (Camen), Nikia Duren, Ramel Brown Sr. (Nicole), Christopher Phinisee Jr., Dante Collins (Starle), Marshel Bastidas (Todd). Great-grandchildren, Quamela, Qshajena, Amarie, Marianna, Marrielle, LaMar III, Chelle, Joshua, Christian, Jaquez, Marquez, Kamari, Lalah, Britney, Destiny, Ramel Jr., Aaliyah, and Adonis. Great-great grandchildren Alachai and Makai. James will be missed by many relatives and dear friends.
