Kim, Scott, Tyler, Richard, Diane, and Laura, I am so very sorry to know of Jason’s passing. In our HS group we shared some really amazing times, and some that may or may have not gotten us in trouble. We enjoyed track competitions, hanging out on weekends, generally being goofy, but most of all…laughs. Life is very short, but what I most remember of us all together was happy, laughter, and making fun of one another. Fly high, buddy. I miss you.

Jason, thanks for being a good childhood friend to me, at a time when I didn't have many. I hope I was able to make you laugh and keep your ego healthy with my very clumsy lack of athletic prowess. I obviously lost touch with you as we went into our different circles and I began traveling around the world, but I hope you left the world knowing I valued our friendship very much. I often saw you as an idealized version of myself - you were better than me at, well, pretty much everything, but you never showed an ounce of arrogance about it - the ultimate quiet achiever. I regret that in our adult years I didn't have more to say or made more of an effort to reach out, especially since you were fighting this horrible illness for so long. I hope you are at peace and are resting comfortably. Much love, Matt
