The Hall family is saddened by the passing of Jay. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to his wife and children and to Don and Lory and to the families of Jan and Jamie. We recall the Tichelaar family as loving neighbors who at times provided baby sitters for our boys. Greg remembers playing trombone with Jay at J.M. - He will be missed so much. We wish you hope, love and peace. In sympathy, Dick and Majel Hall Greg, Geoff and Brian

I had the pleasure of working with Jay at Covance over the past few years. I was absolutely heartbroken when i saw the news release and messaged his manager the morning after the tragic accident. Jay's witty charm and sense of humor always made challenging situations easier. He was so easy to talk to and was always there to help lend a hand when needed. The Covance family will miss him very much.

Jay was such a great guy. He had a great way of lightening up the mood. He would look at you with that lopsided smile of his and crack a joke. I already miss him. I see that you are looking for help with college tuition. I would be more than happy to help. Please let me know how to best send money. It was a delight to work with Jay.

I had the pleasure of working with Jay during his time at Covance, and found him an absolute pleasure to work with. Even though we were collaborating from opposite sides of the pond, I got the sense that he was a good and intelligent guy, and I think I speak for all my colleagues in the Leeds, UK office when I say he will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to Jay's family and friends at this difficult time.

Jay and I joined Covance medical writing at about the same time, and I was lucky enough to go through the onboarding process with him. Looking back, he made the process so much easier! He had a knack for making a stressful situation seem more lighthearted – he was always very funny, warm, smart, and an absolute team player. His laugh was unmistakable and would always make the entire team laugh along with him. He helped me out on several occasions when I had questions or needed a project covered – no questions asked, he was there. I have very fond memories of him and feel very grateful to have gotten to work with him and know him. My heart goes out to Jay’s family – to his wife and kids – and to all who loved him. I am so so sorry for your loss, please know that people are thinking about you and praying for you. God bless.
