Jim Schaefer died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 4, 2022. Age 65. Beloved husband of Patricia. Beloved son of Jerry and Dorothy and brother of Anthony. Stepfather of Julie (Michael) Kresse and Victor Verdev. Step-grandfather of Emily, Ellyse, Anthony and Victor, Jr.

Jim was owner of Schaefer Auto Services for over 40 years. His customers loved him and his honesty. He loved taking broken things and making them new again. Jim spent a lot of time over the years at the family cabin (Schaefer’s Sugar Camp) in Mercer. He loved nature, gardening and all types of animals, including wildlife. Jim was a proud Conservative.

Gathering will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 1:00 PM – 2:45 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with Celebration of Life to follow at 3:00 PM.

On July 2, 2022,  7:00 PM – 10:00 PM. Anodyne Coffee 224 West Bruce Street, Milwaukee Wisconsin, has generously offered their gathering space for us to celebrate the more lighthearted, whimsical side of the life of Jim. Hope to see you there!

Jim, I am heartbroken that you are no longer on this earth with us. I have so so many memories going back to our youth and nothing but good times when we were together. Fishing, camping, building our hydroplanes, mini-bikes, motorcycles (you were the cool guy with the Bultaco!). And, your harmonica and constant smile.
