Found Eternal Peace on May 18, 2017 at age 85. Beloved husband of 65 years to Jessie (nee Mirialakis). Cherished father of Melissa DeFalco Menge and father-in-law of Jim Menge. Dear brother of Frank DeFalco. Further survived by a niece, a nephew, family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Mary (nee Cicero) DeFalco.

Doctor DeFalco was an esteemed Professor Emeritus of American Literature at Marquette University, Hemingway Scholar and published author. He also served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Joe was a devoted member of the Greek Orthodox churches in Milwaukee.

Visitation will be at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue in New Berlin, WI on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, with Trisagion at 6:00 PM. Additional visitation at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2160 North Wauwatosa Avenue in Wauwatosa, WI on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Entombment at Wisconsin Memorial Park to follow.
