Karen Elizabeth Anderson

Passed away at her home on January 5, 2018, at age 68. Preceded in death by her parents Edward Bennett and Helma “Rusty” Alexandra (nee Wohlgemuth) Anderson and her sister Jacquelyn Leah (John) Kompas. Beloved sister of David Evar (Lori) Anderson and Steven Alex Anderson. Dear aunt of Heather (Jeff) Ferrise, Wyatt K. (Stacia) Biel, Robyn A. (Matthew) Vester, Bennett L. (Holly) Anderson, Braden D. (Katlin) Anderson, and Ellen L. (Silas) Baalke. Great-aunt of Noah, Soraya, Isaiah, Riley, Malachi, and Scarlett. Also loved by other family and dear friends.

Karen was a cat lover and an advocate for animal welfare. She was a founding member of the Milwaukee Jewish Community Chorale and was also a member of her synagogue choirs in Milwaukee and St. Louis. She taught adult Hebrew and trained b’nei mitzvah students. She also contributed many volunteer hours to music activities within the synagogue plus singing at two residences for memory-impaired seniors. She was presently a member of Congregation Shalom.

Memorial Service at Congregation Shalom, 7630 North Santa Monica Boulevard, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 2:30 PM. A shiva gathering will be held afterwards until 5:00 PM.
