Laurie A. Kretschmann

(Nee Kirch) Born to Eternal Life on January 8, 2020, at age 74. Beloved wife of Ernest for 49 years. Loving mother of Brian (fiancée Kara) and David. Dear sister of Frederic (Christine) Kirch. Sister-in-law of John (Mary), Elmar (Marta), and MaryAnn Kretschmann. Also loved by nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends. Preceded in death by her brother John Kirch; sisters-in-law Laurie Kirch and Margaret Kirch; and brother-in-law Henry Kretschmann.

Laurie worked for Mobil Oil in Milwaukee in the early years until Mobil moved their accounting office to Shaumberg, Illinois. At this time it was also the time to start her own family and she devoted her life to her husband and their children. She loved to host parties for all her kids events, birthdays, confirmations, scouting, soccer, baseball, swimming, etc. She played the violin in her youth and encouraged her children to do that as well, then they added the trumpet to their musical talents. This was followed by many years of being a skater mom locally and across the country. She was a wonderful travel partner for Ernie as they explored the US and Europe.  Her strength really came out at David’s birth, when Brian had a serious injury and when her mom needed help at the end of her wonderful life. She was our Rock.

Visitation at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1750 North Calhoun Road, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, from 4:00 PM – 6:45 PM. Service at 7:00 PM. Burial at Wisconsin Memorial Park on Thursday at 11:00 AM.
