Lorraine A. O’Malley Age 74, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021. Preceded in death by her parents Claude and Lorraine (Kiel) O’Malley. She is survived by her loving husband of many years, George F. Banda. Also survived by her three siblings, Eugene (Kassy), Bridget Reedy (the late Ron) and Kathleen O’Malley-Schmidt (Randy). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
Lorraine was an accomplished product of the Milwaukee Public School System. She attended Forest Home Avenue and Anna F. Doerfler Elementary Schools. She graduated from Walker Junior High and South Division High School (Class of ’65). Later in life she pursued post-secondary education. She received a Bachelors Degree from Alverno College where she majored in Math and minored in Philosophy. She also received a Masters Degree in Education from Alverno.
In the summer of 1967, Lorraine moved briefly to Canada where she worked at the Exposition held in Montreal for the duration of the event. Upon returning to Milwaukee, she was employed at the Allen Bradley Company where she worked as an Electrical Tester for 30 years. After retiring from Allen Bradley, she was employed as an Instructor in Mathematics at Alverno College.
For many years Lorraine suffered from Multiple Sclerosis. She met this situation with courage and determination and was an inspiration to those who were close to her.
